About

Hello and welcome. My name is Doreen Eager and I grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY, with a younger brother and Mom and Dad who loved us. I had two children with my first husband and he passed away in 2010. God graciously brought my best friend and current husband into our lives in 2011 and our new family moved to Charleston, SC in 2012. We became members of Hibben UMC in 2013 and we made many wonderful friends there. From 2017 to 2019 I worked on staff as Director of Discipleship. This job was what I was called to do, I truly enjoyed it. Part of my role was reaching out to visitors, getting them plugged into groups and guiding the volunteer Greeters. Another part of my job was leading a couple of small groups and helping to coordinate the Women’s ministry. The last two roles are close to my heart. I love a good study that will bring people closer into their personal relationship with God and I love Women’s ministry. In the summer of 2019, my family moved from Charleston, SC to Belmont, NC. We love the little town of Belmont and its quant shops and delicious eateries.

What do I like to do for fun? First and foremost, I love spending time with God and in His word and a very close second is hanging out with my family. Going for long walks, playing a board or Wii game, watching a TV series together and discussing it, and as a family we are big Charlotte Hornets basketball fans. Another diversion I enjoy is cooking and baking. My husband works in IT, our son is starting his senior year of College, and our daughter is starting her senior year in High School.

Why do I want to blog and why about Podcasts? I found myself doing short book reviews and quotes from Podcasts on social media. I listen to many Christian Leadership podcasts and the content provides abundant personal benefits. The blog allows me to elaborate on those more and share that with you. I am hoping it will help you learn more about God, what His word says about you, and how you can see God at work in your everyday life. Another benefit is I will be able to pick out specific Podcasts that speak to the stay at home Mom or the Dad trying to raise his kids alone and keep their focus on God, building their relationship with Him. My hope is to bring people into a closer relationship with God through Podcasts that give good spiritual guidance and real-life applications.

I would enjoy hearing from you and knowing how this blog or a podcast has touched your life, or on how I can make the blog better. Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram thegodlypodreview or Twitter @thegodlypodrev1 and/or email thegodlypodreview@gmail.com.
